I think someone is using my Wi-Fi

What to do if you suspect a neighbour or stranger has your Wi-Fi password.

Updated 29 October 2026

Your SkyPro Internet plan is unlimited, so you won't run out of data. But other people on your Wi-Fi can slow it down for you and can be a security risk.

Signs someone else may be connected

  • Your internet is slower than usual even when nobody at home is using it.
  • The Usage tab in the SkyPro Internet app shows traffic at times when your devices are off.
  • Someone you don't trust has had your password, such as a former tenant, staff member or visitor.

What to do

  1. Change your Wi-Fi password. This is the simplest and surest fix. When the password changes, every device is disconnected and only people with the new password can join. Message us on WhatsApp at +234 808 110 4449 and ask for a new password. See How to change your Wi-Fi password.
  2. Choose a strong password: at least 12 characters, not your phone number or name.
  3. Reconnect your own devices with the new password.
  4. Share it carefully. Only give it to people you trust.

Tip

Have lots of visitors, or run a business? Ask us whether a separate guest Wi-Fi is possible on your router, so visitors never get your main password.

Good to know

Please don't log in to the router to block devices yourself. Message us and we'll help.
